PHOTOS: Alberta Winter Games 2023

The 2024 Alberta Winter Games took place over the Family Day weekend in the Grande Prairie region. 

Grande Prairie (Zone 8) took home five gold, seven silvers and 15 bronze medals. 

The Minister’s Cup and the Spirit of Sport award were given to the Peace country. 

Zone 3 (Calgary) won the Alberta Cup winning 61 gold, 52 silver and 36 bronze medals. 

The games started with the opening ceremonies on Friday, as the flame made its way through the Bonnetts Energy Centre. 

Over 2,400 athletes aged 11-17 came to the city to compete in 18 events.

Opening Ceremonies
