The rain didn’t keep crowds away from enjoying the annual Chautauqua Day celebrations in Sexsmith on June 6. Starting with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Sexsmith & District Agricultural Society at the local arena, which also unveiled its new name on June 6 as the Dynamic Energy Centre, audiences donned umbrellas to enjoy the parade that made its way down 99 Ave. from the Sexsmith Secondary School and down Main Street. After that, those that braved the weather enjoyed a day outdoors for some summer fun. Environment and Climate Change Canada reported that 4 mm of rain fell on June 6 in the Grande Prairie area.
